About the app

StarlingHF is an offline educational reference for the hemodynamics of advanced heart failure and mechanical circulatory support. It turns right-heart catheterization numbers into the indices and risk scores used in advanced heart failure, MCS and transplant evaluation: cardiac power output, the aortic pulsatility index, the myocardial performance score, PAPi, pulmonary and systemic vascular resistance, RV stroke work, MELD-XI, and the EUROMACS-RHF and Michigan RV failure scores. It includes the milrinone challenge and vasodilator reversibility workflows, a guided walk through published advanced heart failure referral logic, donor heart tools (predicted heart mass size matching, the RADIAL score, ISHLT donor selection criteria and early graft dysfunction grading), and short explainers on the evidence behind them. Every formula and cutoff is shown with its primary reference, and provisional thresholds are labelled as such.

Disclaimer

StarlingHF is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose or treat any patient. It does not replace primary literature, institutional protocols or clinical judgement. Cutoffs are population-level teaching values drawn from published cohorts, and several are explicitly provisional. The patient pathway is an educational walk through published referral logic, not a treatment recommendation; every real decision belongs to a multidisciplinary team with the patient.
